Annual Giving Week
Invest in Today and in a Brighter Tomorrow
November 18-22
Giving Week Goal: $86,000 & 100% Participation
Annual giving is the cornerstone of all giving at Baker because it supports the education of every student and the ongoing day-to-day operational expenses of our school.
At Baker, every student’s education is financed by both tuition and annual giving support–even those that do not qualify for financial assistance. Annual giving impacts every aspect of our program. It helps us deliver a high-quality, well-rounded education to all students. It helps us hire and retain world-class faculty, improves our programs and facilities, and enhances the impact of a Baker education.
Baker Net Tuition Per Student: $18,617
Baker Expenses Per Student: $29,278
Difference: $10,661

Area of Greatest Need
Each year, we aim for 100% parent participation. All funds raised for the Annual Fund go directly to Baker’s operating budget and are used during the current fiscal year. Your support of the annual fund advances the excellence, innovation, and accessibility of this life-changing education. Every gift, no matter the size, makes an impact.
Giving Week – Parent Participation Challenge
This year, we are excited to kick off the Baker Annual Fund Participation Challenge for the 2024–25 school year! Thank you to those who participated already—your support is helping us invest in today, and build a brighter future for tomorrow!
What is the Baker Annual Fund Participation Challenge?
To encourage parent/guardian participation in the Baker Annual Fund, each grade that reaches 85% participation will win their choice of a fun, free and fully planned in-person activity for either all students, parents/guardians or families of that grade.
Parents/Guardians in the winning grade(s) will vote on which in-person activity they would like for their grade’s students or parents/guardians.
The best part is that more than one grade can win! All grades who win this challenge will have in-person events held this spring.
We hope you’ll participate today for fun and prizes but, most importantly, for Baker! Please join us and your class by making a gift today at bakerdemschool.org/give
Thank you in advance for helping us keep investing in today!

FAQ
Why is participation important?
- When members in our community participate, they clearly demonstrate their confidence in the philosophy and mission of Baker Demonstration School
- Annual Giving donations are needed from all in our community (parents, alumni, grandparents, parents of alumni, current and former faculty and staff and friends) to meet the yearly operating budget.
- Please visit Ways to Give for more information on how to participate
Why not just raise tuition to cover the full cost of a Baker education?
- The Board of Trustees is committed to keeping tuition at a competitive level; increasing revenue through Annual Giving allows our school to keep tuition increases as minimal as possible, and therefore, more accessible to more families.
- The gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating each student is about $10,661
- Unlike tuition, Annual Giving donations are tax-deductible.
How much should I give?
- Please support Annual Giving at the level that is meaningful to you. We encourage 100% participation from the Baker Demonstration School community. All donors to the school are recognized in our Annual Report.
- You can give online. Monthly recurring gifts are available. To learn more about ways to give, click here.
- Many employers will match charitable donations. Please check with your employer or our Corporate Matching Lookup on our website.
What are the goals of Baker’s financial aid program?
Baker’s financial aid program seeks to remove financial barriers for students who contribute to and benefit from a Baker education. Baker’s financial aid program serves to bolster the Schools’ mission to honor diversity in all its forms. Increasing financial aid resources for current and entering students allows us to change the lives of future Baker alumni and strengthen our commitment to cultivating and nurturing a diverse and inclusive community.
What would a substantially larger endowment do for Baker?
- Endowment income has historically been a stabilizing force in the operation of education institutions as it is less variable relative to other revenue streams and is available in perpetuity. At Baker, revenue from our endowment creates a permanent source of funding for ongoing priorities and provides critical support for our financial aid program, facilities maintenance, and more.
