Students were at a balance station during our gymnastics/parkour unit. Students had the task to create a balance course that they could move through at their own pace. Some of them added precision jumping (a parkour skill) to this station. When students have the opportunity to set their own pace in class, they enjoy a lesson more and can better engage with the material. At Baker, we believe in fostering a lifelong interest in physical fitness that sustains beyond our school.
Teacher Reflection
It was great to watch students at each station to work together to create a course that would challenge each of them in their own way. This group in the picture has a wide range of abilities and they created a great experience for each of them.
