BAKER NASA EVENT

Community event: family steam workshop with nasa engineer

You’re Invited: Family STEAM Workshop

Saturday, April 26, 2025
10 am – 1 pm

Your family is invited to get hands-on and explore the fascinating world of spider robotics, discover how machines make decisions, and learn about artificial intelligence applications alongside Aaron Shepard, a real-life NASA engineer. This event aims to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers while demonstrating real-world applications of STEM concepts in the Baker learning spaces. You’ll also get to play with artificial intelligence and spider robots—yes, actual robots inspired by spiders! (No, they won’t crawl on you. Probably.)

Ask ANYTHING! Have any questions about what it’s like to work at NASA? How do robots learn? Can a spider robot really outsmart you? Aaron will answer them all in a fun Q&A session. Trust us, this will be a conversation you’ll tell your grandkids about (seriously, “I met a NASA engineer” is basically a lifetime achievement).

Mission Schedule (Sign up for one Slot):  A: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM: Workshop + Q&A for Pre-K through 3rd grade.  B: 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM: Workshop + Q&A for 4th through 8th grade
